Trainee Doctor in Rural service of Karnataka 2012

Trainee Doctor in Rural service of Karnataka 2012

Today some of us are working as trainee Doctors as apart of rural service in our state - Karnataka, hardly some 15% of the total GOVT college passed out ..

DUTIES as per Comissionor office HFW, Bangaluru
- OPD Cases,
- IPD cases if any,
- Emergency Cases IF any,
Note not to take up medico-legal cases but to give primary treatment and
       refer to next level

THE FACTS :
- have to undertake all programme works as per the orders of our
    Administrative Medical officer
- On the receiving end at times when stock of medicine gets off,
- without financial and administrative power you wont be able to change much

POSITIVE POINT:
if you survive here you are best suited for government employment in HFW dept if you acquire the negative shades of the system then surely you will proceed further up the ladder of organization along with economical heights and if you stand fast on your principles will have set backs.

waiting for completion of the rural service period, hope it's uneventful.

Will better plan to serve my county in my own way rather then to fall in mechanical routine trap of social health service with very few resources.

THREE D's OF THE HOSTEL

THE THREE D's OF THE HOSTEL

You may wonder who are these people ... The Danger # 3.

Ganesh M shivanna, Nitin Biradar and Pholghu Protim Devchoudary all the three are my friends of Mysore medical college.

The most notorious among them was Nitin Biradar - storm uncontrolled he could pick up dispute with any one, unpredictable. CLASSMATES, PG, SENIORS, Juniors even our own batchmates Colleagues were some of his favourate recipe for the day.

Ganesh M shivanna the silent most among the three but hurdles used to come his way by themselves and finally involve the whole batch in that matter.

Pholghu Protim Devchoudary you could call this man as an ALIEN as for as studies is concerned but once out of the hospital and in Hostel he had created his own unique world full of fantastic future ideas especially for his hobbies, but was witty and intelligent ... 007 sort, once out of your sight you can never see him unless he wants some one to see him... be careful,,, he is famous from Assam to Karnataka

First batch of MBBS doctors doing compulsory Rural service 2012 - 2013

COMPULSORY RURAL SERVICE FOR 2006 BATCH DOCTORS IN KARNATAKA..FROM 2012-2013

We attended the meeting called at the seminar room at commissionor of health and family welfare office, Anandrao circle, Bangaluru on 7th may at around 11.15 am.

       The following persons attended it
  • Commissionor of HFW,
  • Technical secretary and incharge of BOND ENFORCEMENT CELL, Dept HFW,
  • Parents and nearly 280 new Doctors of 2006 batch of govt colleges.
Officials discussed the following points

POINTS FOR DOCTORS WILLING TO JOIN THE SERVICE
  • all doctors of 2006 batch have to do rural service for a duration of one year from the date of appointment order,
  • a payment of Rs 25,000/- will be given,
  • has to work as trainee doctor, under a senior medical officer,
  • trainee doctor have to attend OPD, IP and EMERGENCY DUTIES and they will not be given or involved any administrative, financial and medico-legal works / cases.
  • if such trainee doctors who appear for PG-entrance and succeed in getting a post graduate seat within this service duration, then a provision will be made to allow such doctors to continue his higher education..
  • counselling will be conducted according to the CET Merit ranking of 2006 entrance exams, and the Doctors can select a seat from the list of vacancies available according to his/her rank.. The selection procees will be transparent and seat matrix will be displayed, similar to seat counselling as done for MBBS.
  • A separate list based on MBBS performance cant be feasible, as it require to collect all the marks Data of four years plus grading done in internship then averging that to generate merit list will lead to further delay in the process, so 2006 KCET Ranking will be the basis for  work place selection.
POINTS / CONDITIONS FOR THE DOCTORS NOT WILLING TO JOIN THE SERVICE
  • As per the Bond medical have executed while taking the seat in Government Medicall College, they have to pay one lakh Rupees through Nationalized Bank challan..
After this briefing by the officials, Parents and the Doctors present there enquired about various aspect of the procedures / duties /responsibilities /security of the female doctors at rural areas /date of counselling/etc

On this same occasion, Dr Shivshanker S Patil of MMCRI, Mysore and Dr Tejesvi of Mandya medical college asked the concerned officials to clarify and accept their request / suggestions like
  • The word Trainee Doctor should be dropped and an alternate word like Asst Medical officer / Deputy Medical officer / Duty Doctor Etc should considered, because, these Doctors have already completed one year compulsory internship and are dully registered with Karnataka Medical Council, there by permitted by this board to practice as Doctor Not as Trainee Doctor. More over a Doctor after  his MBBS course can apply for Medical Officer on contract basis, then why should the HFW Dept, give the title Trainee Doctor..?
  • Bond was signed in 2006 august  and the doctors have completed their academic year on March 2012, including one year internship... so the Doctors request the Dept to end the service within the next academic year ie march 2013, if any delay in appointment or counselling it will be due to Dept Delay not due to Doctors ...a New Batch of Doctor i.e 2007 Batch will be available for such posting from the next academic year fron March 2013...
  • A special quota or reservation should be allowed in Karnataka Postgraduation Entrance for such Doctors, or else Doctors who pay amount and the doctors who have studied on merit seat in private college will have more chances of getting the PG seat compare to the Merit Doctors, who will be serving in the villages..
  • Doctors then gave a list of queries, for which the officials promised to consider and reply it in the news press release later.
Then the Officialls informed the gathering that a detailed information concerning the process and the answers to the queries will be published in the Daily News-Paper on 15th or 16th of May, and the dates for counselling will be announced in the same press release.
